Perfect Home

In a quiet village, in the attic of one of the houses, lived a gnome named Domovoy. He dreamed of finding a new, beautiful, and more comfortable home for himself. One day, he saw his neighbor selling his house and moving to a new place. Without even reading a single fairy tale, Domovoy immediately set out on a journey through worlds to find his ideal home. Along the way, he was kicked out and tossed from every house, and at the lowest point of his long journey, he landed in front of his old home and saw it in a new light. In the end, he returned to his home and understood the meaning of the perfect house for him—a small and modest place, but his own, where no one could kick him out. This was where he belonged.

In this co-directed animated short film, I handled the character design and character animation plus additional stuff as a map, while my teammate Anna Tsimmerinova brought the world to life with backgrounds and VFX. Together, we crafted this visually rich and heartfelt story.
